The Juko HX LED light designed for JUKOLUX Ltd by Huld received an award of recognition on January 19th 2017 at Fennia Prize 2017 design competition. Along with the design, Huld has also been in charge of the product’s mechanical engineering, technical analysis, and the simulation of different operating conditions.

JUKO HX collection of lamps has a new kind of design and applies new solutions, which makes it stand out in the competition. The accumulation of dust on top of the lamp has been minimized by the design of the lamp frame. The fast assembly of the lamp decreases investment costs and makes it easier to maintain the lamp.
“The IECEx standards imposed the planning with some demanding framework conditions. With the testing and simulation of prototypes we could minimize the risks and find the best solutions for the products going to production. We are very contented with the contribution of Huld in this project. Especially the design, the technical knowhow, and the attitude towards our project was first class“, says Ismo Aukee, the managing director at Jukolux Ltd.

A lamp for demanding conditions

JUKO HX lamps product family has been planned especially for explosive premises, such as oil refineries or factories. The latest LED technology has been utilized in the lamp and it meets the EX II GD environmental requirements. JUKO HX lamp holds inside the flame or hot gas that could appear in a situation of malfunction, so that the flammable or explosive substance in the environment does not light up. The lamp has been designed to function between temperatures of -40 … +60 centigrade and as an industrial lamp, it also meets the requirements of the IP-67 classification; in other words, it is waterproof and dustproof.

Special attention has been paid to the cooling of the lamp, because the heating shortens the lifetime of the LED lamps and creates a fire safety risk. The implemented cooling structure stays clean in difficult conditions, so a JUKO HX product is in practice service-free after the initial assembly.
