Huld’s packaging designers developed an easy-to-use, ecological packaging for Nestor Cables’ fiber optic cable, made completely plastic-free from paper materials. The packaging supports Nestor Cables’ goal of reducing the carbon footprint of their production.
Nestor Cables is a Finnish provider of ready-made network solutions and cable network technologies. They help build fast internet connections in Finland and around the world responsibly.
Nestor Cables had a clear vision – they needed sustainable and functional packaging for their fibre optic cable that would both run smoothly in production and support installation. Nestor Cables turned to Huld’s packaging design experts for a solution tailored specifically to their product and needs.

Huld’s experts were tasked with implementing the technical requirements sustainably to the packaging design. For example, particularly precise measurements had to be considered, so that the packaging could be optimized to be compact while not stressing the cable. The collaboration progressed quickly, and the first design was completed within a week.

The collaboration resulted in an ecological and sustainable packaging made entirely of cardboard, for Nestor Cables’ needs. Simple solutions, such as adjustable center support, could completely replace the use of plastic in packaging. In addition, the packaging was designed so that it is simple and quick to pack. This streamlines the production and installation process and supports the customer’s cost-effective business.
