Mylab is a leading Finnish expert in information systems for healthcare, clinical laboratories and diagnostics. During our long-term cooperation, Huld’s experts have developed a modern and secure healthcare information system, enhancing the daily operations of blood centres and improving patient safety.
Mylab’s mission is to help maintain a healthier society by connecting people, systems and data. Huld’s software development experts have been a reliable partner for Mylab for almost ten years in the development of the My+® laboratory information system which is especially aimed at laboratories and blood centres.
Mylab’s laboratory information system was in need of modernisation. The goal was to create an efficient, user-friendly and safe solution that speeds up blood transfusion and product processes and reduces the risk of errors.
The development of medical systems is demanding work – every step is regulated and closely supervised, because human lives are at stake. Huld’s experts combined their technical expertise with understanding of medical devices and regulations. This has allowed us to help ensure the highest quality and timeliness of Mylab’s system as the project progresses.

The biggest step forward in the cooperation has been the integration of the electronic blood compatibility checking into the Mylab’s laboratory information system. This innovation has improved patient safety, accelerated blood transfusions, and reduced the need for manual compatibility checking. At the same time, it meets the strict safety requirements set by legislation and regulation.
Electronic blood compatibility checking not only provides more reliable results but also speeds up decision-making significantly through the use of the type & screen practice. In the past, manual compatibility checking could slow down the transfusion process, but now the electronic check can be done in seconds – which is critical in situations where there is no time to waste.

Our long-term partnership with Mylab is still ongoing. The cooperation started with individual projects, such as the technology pilot of the laboratory information system.
Over the years, the cooperation between Mylab and Huld’s software development experts has expanded to cover not only the system improvements, but also UX/UI design in the field of genetics and, most recently, the development of Mylab’s laboratory information system invoicing functionalities.
In addition to software development, Huld’s experts have supported Mylab also in project management.
