Epec Oy is a Finnish system supplier of electronics and software. They are specialized in machinery and commercial vehicles operating in demanding conditions. Epec’s products include, for example, autonomous control units, displays and sensors.
Huld’s electronics design experts have been Epec’s trusted partner for many years. In addition to electronics design, we have supported Epec’s product development in tasks related to safety assessments and certifications, testing, and project management.
Functional Safety for Demanding Conditions
Epec’s goal has been to renew the product portfolio not only by developing existing ones, but also by creating completely new types of products for the market. During our long partnership, Huld engineers have been involved in supporting the development of several Epec products. Most recently, we have been helping with the design of control units for various implements.
Epec’s products are used, for example, in large machines operating in demanding conditions. Therefore, functional safety has been the number one priority in all design work. The movements of various parts of machinery, such as large booms, must be safe for both operators and the environment. In addition, equipment components, software and electronics must withstand various conditions, such as vibration, temperature fluctuations and humidity.
